An Evening of Opera Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Great Composer’s Birth

This magical evening of opera under the stars is part of a world-wide celebration honoring the 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth. Some of the evening’s highlights will include the Overture from Candide and selections from West Side Story. The evening will also include other operatic favorites.
Featured soloist, Michele Patzakis, has been described as a “luscious lyric soprano” in the Boston Herald, “a powerful, vibrant soprano” in the Washington Post, and as a consummate singing-actress whose “voice resonates with an energy that she channels into the (character)..herself” in the New York Times. She has been a vocal fellow with the prestigious Tanglewood Music Center and has received many awards, including being a National Winner of the Loren L. Zachary Competition, and a Regional winner of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions.
#BernsteinAt100 Leonard Bernstein at 100 is the world-wide celebration of the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein, the composer, conductor, educator, musician, cultural ambassador, and humanitarian, officially beginning on August 25, 2017, Bernstein’s 99th birthday, and continuing through his 100th year until August 25, 2019.
