The Annie Moses Band presents “From Copland to Cash”
Hailing from Nashville, the Julliard-trained Annie Moses Band members bring a unique blend of roots music and classical polish. The Band has been featured on PBS specials, traveled to Europe and Asia, and performed on many renowned world stages including Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry.
From the roots of the Grand Ole Opry, to the wings of Carnegie Hall, the Annie Moses Band has been takng American music to new heights for more than a decade. Now, in Copland Cash: The Grit and Grandeur of the American Spirit, the Band applies its classically honed, all American talent to a cornucopia of iconic melodies, reviving the American saga through innovative, high spirited arrangements. From the homeland songs of its namesakes (“Hoedown,” “I’ve Been Everywhere”) to the soulful melodies of Spirituals and the show tunes of George Gershwin (“Sometimes I Feel like a Motherless Child,” “An American in Paris”), Copland to Cash breathes new life into the nation’s stories and legends. The Band’s colorful family history comes into play through remarkable true tales and songs of the Oklahoma Land Run and vigilante justice in the Wild West. Only the virtuosic road warriors and history buffs of the Annie Moses Band could have arranged, composed, and delivered this spellbinding musical odyssey.
