Reaching the children of our region through the life-changing power of music
Landmark studies conducted by the National Endowment for the Arts and Americans for the Arts have proven that children who participate in the arts have improved academic performance, lower truancy rates, and stronger social interactions, and more successful lives.
As part of its ongoing work to bring “Music to Everyone,” Redlands Bowl Performing Arts has embarked on a dramatic strategy to expand its reach to youth in our region. This year, RBPA seeks to reach over 20,000 young people through the life-changing power of the arts, representing a four-fold annual increase in outreach to youth. A significant percentage of the young people to be impacted by these programs are underserved and/or low-income. As with all Redlands Bowl programming, no admission for any youth programs will ever be charged!
Eighty-Eight Keys for Youth programs include:
Music in the Schools elementary assemblies
Music in the Middle middle school assemblies
Arts Impact Initiative which brings music enrichment programs to community partners including the Boys & Girls Club, Family Service Association, Micah House, and the Redlands Community Center
Children’s Festival Workshops bringing age appropriate summer arts programming to children ages 4-12 at the Mission Gables Bowl House and the North Redlands Community Center
